Give Us Pure Hearts

Sunday's service was exactly right. The songs we sang and the words they used. They made me think. Think of how i have fallen from the "high", "in" and "out" that i felt during the retreat. I'm no long feeling God's presense all the time. Everyday definitely, but just not all the time anymore. Everytime i stop and listen, i feel His presense. But how offen do i stop and listen? Seldom? Every now and then? And to tell you the truth, i really miss His presense..! Retreat seemed far away. And then the song "Hear Us From Heaven" was sang. And what SK said was so true for me. God had suddenly touched me so deeply again at that very moment, and i just couldn't stop crying. Everything from the retreat came rushing back and it did not seem far away anymore. Now, it's up to me to remian in the "in" and "out" state again.

What is "pure in heart"? Having committed no sins ever? Or our hearts cleansed, sins being forgiven by God? It's not possible to have never committed sins. Then what about this verse "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.(Matthew 5:8)"? Will we never see God? In greek, the word katharos means pure. And "pure" has to be God's standard, not the world's, not ours', or someone else's who is "dirtier" than you. So Lord, cleanse my heart. Give us clean hands, give us pure hearts, let us not lift our souls to another...

"Sacrifice out of commitment, not out of convenience." These are the words which Frankie had given the cg on sunday and its also his msn nickname. And i think its so true. If it's convenient, is it truly a sacrifice?Giving time to God only when there is free/extra time, what kind of sacrifice is that? God does not ask for your time, He demands it.
