Today's cycling was fun fun fun!! Though my knees died by the second/third hour when we went into AMK.

Started out around 8.30am and stopped at Chong Pang for breakfast. Chee Kuei!! But i couldn't finish my 6 pieces because by the 5th piece, i was too disgusted with the amount of oil. Followed the MRT line all the way to Bishan (think that i did quite well considering i rode a stunt bike all the way to bishan from Sembawang). Then, hmmm... Fam wanted to go MacRitchie Reservior so we started there. But ended up not doing anything much there and we procecced on to Thomson Plaza.

Thomson Plaza... Ate some deserts and then Jue Yi decided to nap at the food court, letting the four of us play bridge. And that went on for abt one and a half hours which we then procecced to have our lunch (i must say that their fried fish meat bee hoon is really nice ^^).

Decided to head back to woodlands after lunch considering that Raymund and Jue Yi only had 2-3 hours of sleep the night before (excluding Jue Yi nap time =P). Anyway, it was also going to rain at that point of time. And thus began our journey along Upper Thomson Road.

Trust me, Upper Thomson Road is a really long road. Up hill, go past Upper & Lower Pierce Reservior, down hill, up hill, down hill... Up hill was a big battle but i was using Linus's bicycle so it was better. Down hill was like wheeeeeeeee!!!! Absolutely thrilling but had to watch the increbily uneven pathway - i almost learnt how to fly when i hit a bump at high speed.

Now, the most interesting part of the trip, a thunderstorm started. We quick hid under some bus stop at Aft Upp Thomson Rd. Vehicles which passed by us had people staring at us. Imagine this: its raining heavily with thunder and lighting. A small tiny bus stop barely able to keep any rain out. And five bicycles around the sits of the bus stop with five goons standing on the sits, trying to keep their feet dry - an impossible task. Simply hilarious. I'll tell you, i have never seen lighting so upclose and awsome in my eighteen years. Ever.

And the thing is, just across the road, was also a bus stop. A significantly bigger bus stop.

Thinking we were close to Chong Pang, we decided to chiong when the rain lightened and the lighting/thunder stopped. Wrong move, we were miles away from Chong Pang, we had not even passed Nee Soon Camp yet. But then since we had gotten all wet, we decided to continue home. And took the Gambas route. Wrong move again. Guess we had never cycled on the Gambas route after a heavy rain. Major flood. At first it was swell and dandy. With the expected small amount of flood. And the next thing we knew, bigger floods appeared! The worst of all was the part where just before the turn into Woodlands Ave 10 (into the end of the Sembawang area). The water was high enough to soak your shoes through when you are cycling. And a bus had perfect timing to speed by. Vroom!! Sending a tidal wave towards Fam and me. Fantastic.

Home = Warm shower & warm bed.
